To follow up on this website's Main Health Page,  where we discussed transcending limiting societal archetypes related to the medical system, we would add that the same applies to the food industry. Based on years of trial and error, we now recognize that each of us has to take responsibility of finding the right energizing, health-promoting diet for our unique makeup. The page discusses some ideas that have helped us.

Like many spiritually-oriented people, we sought for many years to find a way to achieve vibrant health on a vegetarian diet. After our failed experiments had taken a big toll on our physical health, we had to change our thinking and finally arrived at a more suitable approach, an energizing and satisfying diet based on quality protein, lots of fresh vegetables, and a limited amount of complex carbohydrates. One of the keys is quality, including as many organic products as possible, along with free- range meats and chicken.

Though each person's dietary needs are unique, evidence seems to be mounting indicating that a variation on this approach is suitable for most people. Of particular importance is the need to avoid simple carbohydrates like white bread, white rice, and white sugar, along with fried foods, and "bad" fats. The evidence is consistently showing that societies that shift from their traditional diets to "modern diets" also begin to experience the "modern diseases" we face here in the US. These modern diets typically include an abundance of simple carbohydrates, low fat meals, lower quality protein, and different forms of fat than those found in traditional diets.
