AN EXERCISE FOR LIVING YOUR TRUE PURPOSE

So let’s try to find expression for those deeper desires. Here’s a valuable exercise:

Write freely for a paragraph or more about something you would really like to accomplish. You can consider what you want to accomplish this year, or even this lifetime. Write without editing, in a brainstorming fashion.

After you have your unedited statement on what you want to do, boil it down to a sentence or two.

Here are a couple of examples from students who have taken our Holistic Healing course:

“Create the highest degree of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellness in myself and others using holistic methods.”

“I assist people to see who they really are so they can live with clarity, focus, ease and grace.”

When you can describe what you do, what your purpose is, it gives a good foundation for living your purpose. Remember, too, that purpose can continue to be clarified and evolve in your understanding of it.

Of course, your purpose will be unique to you and fit your interests, strengths, and gifts. As we become more guided by our soul, our purpose becomes clearer, and can be translated from moment to moment. Following your soul’s guidance brings genuine excitement.

How will you know that you are making progress? Your thoughts, feelings, intuitions, and actions will define and advance your purpose. You will build your own niche, filled with your uniqueness, strengths, and skills.

As we follow our soul’s inspiration and bliss, we lead a life filled with more joy, service, and creativity. That seems about the best thing we can do for ourselves and the planet.
